One of the goals of our annual Clinical Faculty Retreat this past August was to begin the process of drafting a mission statement, which we continued to work on during subsequent meetings and approved unanimously in mid-October.

We are excited to share it here:

UNC Clinical Programs equips students with the habits of mind and skills to be reflective, ethical, and zealous advocates in pursuit of social justice.

Our mission is threefold:

  • To address otherwise unmet legal needs
  • To model the highest standards of practice within our profession; and
  • To advance the Carolina Law mission of being a great and truly public law school.
