John Gibson

I was born and raised in Upstate, New York in a quiet little city called Oneonta. I moved on to Albany for college at Siena where I worked in the Writing Center and became involved with our Pre-Law society. During college I also interned for a local Congressman, and this was where I realized that advocating for people was my true passion. I worked closely with several constituents on various cases, often involving their struggles with poverty, and in a few instances we were able to improve their respective situations. After college and a several-week-long hiatus exploring most of our fifty states, anticipating the impending doom of my first year of law school, I made the permanent move to North Carolina with my high school sweetheart, Taylor. I look forward to spending this summer with the Poverty Center getting to know better, and hopefully improving, my new North Carolina community.
