We arrived in Boone ahead of schedule, despite a much needed breakfast stop at Bojangles outside of Greensboro. I found it odd that Dylan had never been to Bojangles before. Our first location was Legal Aid of Boone where we met the project leaders and received a brief re-orientation about the Living Will, Will, POA, and HCPOA. We spent this time reviewing the difference between these documents and those that the Eastern Pro Bono group is writing this week. My attention was focused on learning the healthcare-specific terms and determining how to explain the language to a layperson as I was executing the documents.

After some lunch from Panera we made it to the senior center. Document writing is off and running and I’m now watching my peers hard at work. My awesome partner Gabby is the tech guru so we’re going to be drafting later this afternoon after she sets up our printing station. Very excited to begin helping the seniors here at the center!
