Every summer, the UNC Law Pro Bono Program gears up for 1L Orientation by preparing a video to introduce the incoming students to the Pro Bono Program. The 2L Coordinator works with the Public Relations Coordinator to create a video that speaks to the goals of the current Board, as well as the vision and mission statement of the Pro Bono Program. The video also serves as a way to engage with the new class before school even starts, encouraging new students to become involved with the Pro Bono Program and Pro Bono work early in their legal careers. The students who participate in the video speak to the variety of Pro Bono work available to students, the benefits of Pro Bono work broadly, as well as the positive impact upon the community. The lighthearted approach of this year’s video also speaks to the personality of the current Pro Bono Board, as well as the sense of community felt throughout Carolina Law.
